Job Description: The computer lab located in the Erskine building is a valuable resource for all students, especially for students that have interest in graphic design. There are 18 iMac computers that are interconnected and feature the latest software for both the Mac and the PC. Additionally, the Adobe Suite CS4 is loaded on all computers. Because of the complexity of the lab along with they need to monitor how computers are being used, it is imperative that when the Erskine building is not normally occupied by professors and staff, a responsible individual must be on duty. The work-study individual will be responsible to promptly open and close the room on time. While the student would not be expected to answer all questions related to the different programs, the student should be able to assist other students to log onto the computers and to answer rudimentary questions. The student would also be responsible to ensure that no eating or drinking goes on in the room to preclude the computers being damaged. While it is not absolutely necessary for the work-study student to be in graphic design or has taken a graphic design course, a student with graphic experience is preferred in order to assist students that may wish to access the Adobe Suite of programs.
